In Ethiopia’s renowned Sidamo region, the Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union nurtures a long-standing tradition of cultivating exceptional highland Arabica. Grown by small family farms at altitudes of 1,750 to 2,200 meters, this Heirloom variety thrives under ideal conditions—fertile volcanic soil, cool nights, and abundant sunshine.
Each cherry is selectively handpicked at peak ripeness and washed before drying on raised African beds, a meticulous process that preserves the coffee’s vibrant florals and elegant structure. The cooperative, Fairtrade certified since 2003, has transformed the lives of local producers by ensuring fair prices and funding vital community projects such as schools, scholarships, roads, and access to electricity.
This Sidamo coffee reflects the heritage and care of generations of farmers. It offers a refined cup with delicate florals, bright citrus, and a silky, tea-like body—a pure expression of Ethiopia’s legendary coffee terroir.
We roasted this coffee for filter, highlighting its bright, complex acidity and floral aromatics, with a soft sweetness reminiscent of jasmine, bergamot, and honeyed lemon tea.
